Nridhya Dance
Lawanya is a disciple of Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj. She is a committed Kathak dancer and artistic director of Nridhya with a deep understanding of Indian classical dance traditions. Her artistry is deeply rooted in the illustrious tradition of the Lucknow Gharana.
Over the past decade, she has had the privilege of performing in prestigious venues across the world and creating innovative dance productions.
Her commitment to the art extends beyond performance and she has always pushed herself to further her scholarly understanding of the art form. She holds a Bachelors of Performing Arts in Kathak from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishvavidyalaya.
She has choreographed and performed for the Ekta Event at Harvard Business School. She has been a part of Nepal ICCR tour, wherein she played a pivotal role in choreographing and performing throughout the tour. She has conceptualised, choreographed, performed and produced Sahasrara exploring the many shades of red as pulse, presence, and power. She has performed at Harvard Summit at IIIT Delhi. She was Invited back to her alma mater, DPS Indirapuram as a distinguished alumni in the field of arts to perform and choreograph on the occasion of World Dance Day.
She leads NRIDHYA, a centre for excellence, dedicated to the preservation and evolution of Indian dance traditions. Rooted in cultural heritage and embracing contemporary approaches, the institution offers comprehensive training that balances classical rigour with creative exploration. It nurtures technically proficient, artistically sensitive performers, fostering discipline, creativity, and respect for the cultural foundations of Indian dance.
Lawanya has aimed to hone the complex nuances and skill of the art form since the tender age of 3, giving her the technique and eloquence that distinguishes her craft.

Kathak Classes
Our Kathak classes are led by our Founder and Artistic Director Lawanya, disciple of Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj. The classes are designed to meet the specific goals of each student, be it beginner, intermediate or advanced level. Classes are conducted with special emphasis given to the tradition of the Lucknow Gharana of Kathak. Holistic training is given to develop different aspects of the art form- inexplicable bhav, mesmerising footwork, graceful movements, brisk spins and so much more. The program encourages our students to indulge in the rich Indian heritage and embody art. We believe taking this approach makes this simple and potent learning experience more exciting and fulfilling for students.
